Constructing the human digestive system

To help us to fully understand the functions of the parts of the human digestive system; we constructed our own

We put banana and Weetabix into a sealable bag (representing our mouth) and we crushed this together (representing our teeth) and added some water (representing saliva).

We transported the food down the oesophagus and into the stomach where we added some orange juice (representing enzymes) and we crushed this up again (representing the food being broken down even further).

We transferred the food into tights (representing the intestines) and squeezed this through into a cup (representing the rectum).

We pushed the stool out of a small hole in the cup into a metal tray (representing the toilet).
