Reading Quality Mark

St John's were very proud to be awarded the Reading Quality Mark.

This is awarded to schools which demonstrate a culture in which all pupils are encouraged to read for pleasure, and in which reading is given a high profile.

Whilst being considered for award we demonstrated our commitment to providing reading opportunities for all our children, including our wonderful library, visiting authors and book clubs, to name but a few.

We received our award from the Assistant Mayor at a ceremony which took place at Central Library, and later the children also met Councillor Lana Orr who is the Mayoral Lead for Reading.

We also had the opportunity to have a good look around Central Library, before returning to school to show off our award.
