Egyptian Mummification

We mummified ‘Elmo-kahmun’ and ‘Cookie’Kahmun’ following the stages of mummification.

Firstly, we washed the body and removed the internal organs putting them into the correct Canopic Jars.

We sprinkled natron (salt) on the body to dry it out.

We wrapped the body in linen.

We designed death masks for our mummies.

We carried out a traditional procession and ceremony and presented ‘Elmo-kahmun’ and ‘Cookie-Kahmun’ with gifts that we thought they might like in the afterlife. We then laid the mummies to rest in a sarcophagus that we decorated with traditional Egyptian designs.
