This year we looked at a book based on diversity, we chose Elmer.

Year One Looked at the book Elmer, by the author David McKee.  We focused on how it was ok to be different and ways in which we are unique.  We created are own Elmer’s and made a moving picture using sliders as part of our DT topic.  We watched the author tell the story at the end of the day with biscuits and a drink of milk.  Throughout the day the children voted for various stories they wanted to read, designed story book front covers and also read parts of their own stories to their friends.  We all enjoyed World book day!
