As we were so excited to start our new Science topic - Space - we worked extra hard at home on our fantastic space projects and loved presenting these in assembly.
SANTA DASH! To raise money for CAFOD, we took part in a sponsored run in our Christmas jumper, to the wonderful sounds of Christmas songs!
Joseph Roberts visited us this week, and helped us create our own poems! We looked at poetry as a free expression of ourselves. We LOVED hearing him performing our favourite poem of his, 'Scouse Slang'.
Year 5 introduced the Harvest festival by leading mass in church. We explained the meaning of harvest and read some wonderful bible passages.
We were lucky enough to invite the Shakespeare Company into school to help us create a 'play-in-a-day'! 5C retold and acted the story of The Tempest, 5R explore Hamlet, ready for our Macbeth topic in English.
In Art, we have been studying the work of Paul Signac and using his pointillism technique to paint our own landscapes!
For our Food Technology topic, we practised our kneading, weighing, chopping and grating techniques before creating our own pizza from a design.
Some children visited Anfield stadium with the LFC Foundation to take part in a 'Show racism the red card' event, we they took part in workshops and met some famous ex-players!
