Trip to the Museum of Liverpool

Year 1 enjoyed a trip to the Museum of Liverpool as part of their History topic ‘Toys’. We found a timeline of toys and looked at the oldest toy in the museum. We then compared old and new toys, looking at what they were made from and how they moved. We even had a chance to play with some of the old and new toys, and Mrs Hyland and Miss Penny had to show us how to play with them!

We had a look around the other rooms in the museum and enjoyed seeing exhibits about The Beatles, our football teams and famous Liverpool buildings. We even found a very old rocking horse that children used to play on in an old shop called Blacklers, and an old bicycle called a ‘boneshaker’ that didn’t look very comfortable to ride!
